JOB TITLE : MANAGER HUMAN RESOURCES
LOCATION : LAGOS, NIGERIA
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assisting company in having timely available sufficient staff, suitably educated and qualified, at the right position and location;
Assisting and advising Director and Management in hiring, training, motivating, evaluating, rewarding, counseling, promoting, discharging personnel;
Creating conditions, which allow management and staff to fulfill requirements w.r.t. safety, health, environment and security;
Development of Human Resource Policy;
Co-ordination of activities related to selection and recruitment of personnel;
Supporting familiarization and introduction of new personnel;
Looking after interests of personnel;
Illness control;
Assisting management in competence assurance;
Stimulating and facilitating training programmes and career support;
Control of personnel records;
Maintaining high level of confidentiality w.r.t. private personnel matters;
Headcount;
Forecasting and planning of company manpower;
Payroll control;
Controlling conditions of employment;
Job analyses and function valuation;
Monitoring effectiveness of company appraisal process;
Providing management with personnel related data;
Planning and allocation of offshore personnel;
Ensuring all mobilized personnel is fit for duty in regard of legal and statutory requirements, provided with required travel documents and medical certificates and trained adequately;
Co-ordination crew travel and crew changes;
Adequate assistance in emergency situations;
Promoting of and ensuring adherence to company policy and Company Management System (CMS);
Development, maintenance and implementation of the Company Management System (CMS) documentation applicable to his field of responsibility;
Identification and reporting of HR related areas of concern to General Manager;
Stimulating and realizing optimization and improvements in his area of responsibility
Act independently when dealing with HR matters;
Set and define HR related company standards;
Have access to personnel records;
Refusing access to others w.r.t personnel records;
Instruct offshore staff w.r.t. mobilization and travel.
DIRECTS: HR STAFF.
REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY REQUIRED:
General knowledge of transportation, installation and pipe laying or nautical business;
Good knowledge of requirements w.r.t. qualifications of marine and offshore personnel;
Good knowledge of Company Management System (CMS) ensuring compliance to quality, health, safety, environment and safety (QHSES) requirements;
Good knowledge of the English language both written and spoken;
Capable to motivate and manage people;
Good social and communication skills;
Service oriented attitude;
Discreet, accurate, empathic personality;
Capable to recognize talent;
People knowledge.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Minimum of 5 years experience HR position;
Minimum of 5 years experience in offshore contracting business;
Bachelor Degree;
HRM courses;
