The Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator is responsible to the HRM for the carrying out of delegated tasks with regards the day-to-day Health, Safety and Environmental issues of the Company’s business.
Key Responsibilities/Skills:
1.Responsible for safety orientation, safety training, job site inspections and reporting.
2 Maintain awareness of amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations, and make recommendations for their implementation.
3.Perform job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, safe work procedures, written reports and recommendations.
4.Responsible for monitoring adherence to company safety program by all employees and subcontractors.
5.Research, plan, organize and conduct training programs/seminars for supervisors and field employees, with regard to Fall protection, Orientation, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid, construction-specific related issues, etc.
6.Ensure timely completion of accident/injury reporting to Corporate Office.
7.Ensure that the staff’s working environment and facilities are functioning and contribute proactively to staff morale and productivity.
8.Conduct Safety Committee meeting.
9.Ensure that the Business Unit is aware and educated on all company policies and practices.
10.Contribute to the Company and organisation profitability by making sure that human resources programmes, systems and procedures are cost effective.
11.Provide both professional and business input at the Company.
12.Ensure that action plans are developed, implemented and monitored.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1.Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations.
2.Knowledge of concrete form work, demolition, and heavy civil work is an asset.
3.Working towards certification, or already certified, under the Occupational Health & Safety Act/Regulations is preferred.
Minimum 5 years experience in building and construction company. Proof of necessary certifications in QHSE.
