Senior RF Engineering Manager (Telecoms)

Careers Nigeria is recruiting for a Senior RF Engineering Manager on behalf of one of it’s clients in the telecoms industry.

Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for:
* Providing the leadership, direction, and the development of the RF team supporting all aspects of the current deployed network
* The design, analysis and optimization for new market growth.
* Forming part of the leadership team responsible for the Engineering Support of the Wireless network across all regions.


Requirements:

* Good experience in the direct management of engineering personnel above the level of general supervisory tasks.
* Specific commercial experience in producing detailed business proposals
* Must demonstrate fluency with accurate time accounting, project cost accounting and cost control, subcontracting and overall business activities associated with commercial engineering activities.
* Work closely with other Operational and support teams to ensure successful coordination of comprehensive network designs that meets company’s expectations.
* Oversee the preparation of technical workshops and preparation of RFP responses to support the pre-sales efforts and the drive for new revenue opportunities.
* Capability of developing strong working relationships with the support teams, helping to strengthen the overall Customer Satisfaction
* Candidate must provide specific references and examples of all the above requirements.

Deliverables:

* Radio Frequency Design, Site Selection, Cell Planning, Traffic Engineering, Propagation Analysis, and Generation of RF Parameters, Neighbor lists and Datafill Planning for CDMA / 1XRTT / EvDO equipment.

* Promote a strong dependable team environment through strong leadership and the effective use of hiring, mentoring, coaching, and skills development.

Education and Experience Requirements:

* 10+ years of relevant experience in wireless RF engineering; including 3 or more years experience in a management or supervisory role.
* MSCS or MSEE or other applicable technical degree. In lieu of an advanced degree, a BSEE/BSCS or related and additional relevant experience will be considered.
* Prior experience specifically with Huawei 1xEVDO and CDMA knowledge is very highly preferred.
* Prior experience in a comparable role
* Extensive functional experience in wireless RF engineering design, performance analysis and optimization, site selection, cell plan, and data engineering is required.
* Be a recognized expert in wireless RF engineering, CDMA and/or 1xEVDO technology.
* Must possess extensive functional and project management experience in the coordination of complex RF projects.
* Demonstrated effective strategic decision making and planning skills.
* Must be able to manage multiple complex projects, at the functional or business unit level, simultaneously.
* Good understanding of Core network design and dimensioning of A interface for MSC-BSC-BTS in both voice and packed data traffic for 1x/EVDO.

* Excellent team-work coordination skills to manage concurrent projects for RF network design, new sites deployment, RF network optimization, RF performance monitoring and tuning, network growing engineering and testing of equipment.
