The Human Resources Directorate has focused on transforming the organisation to meet standards of best case practice within the sector. Recruitment is on top on the priority of the Human Resources Directorate as the ECOWAS Commission’s staffing needs has increased considerably following it’s transformation from Secretariat to a Commission. To meet these pressing staffing needs while ensuring the Recruitment process is efficient and measures up to global standards and leverages on available technological-solutions to achieve organisational goals; the Human Resource Directorate seeks to a Recruitment Officer in delivering the required services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In consultation with HR Officer, Organisation Design, ensure HR Partners guide designated Directorates to follow position establishment process, in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
Verify job profiles from requesting Directorates and consult with HR Officer, Organisation Design to ensure job profiles are correct and up-to-date; and maintain position files in related databases.
Manage the administration of positions advertisement, notification process for selection and recruitment, including development of screening questions.
Organize face to face interviews or via telephone or video conference and assessment centres for short listed candidates (as required).
Coordinate activities of Recruitment Assistants, including scheduling of panels, logistics and travel arrangements, correspondence with Protocol Unit for hotels or conference centres booking, preparing and following-up on paperwork needed for the interview panel members, such as CVs, interview packs, etc).
Liaise with and assist candidates throughout the recruitment process in a timely and accurate manner.
Prepare applicants’ demographic analyses, required submissions and post-interview reports for submission to relevant authorities.
Collaborate with relevant HR colleagues in a proactive manner to ensure seamless handover in the recruitment/induction process.
Develop a range of resourcing related reports and statistics including effectiveness of job advertisement tools and other sourcing techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in social sciences or related field
Relevant Master’s degree will substitute for two years of professional experience
Five (5) years progressive work experience in Human Resources or relevant consultancy roles.
Demonstrable experience and ability to deliver Recruitment solutions including workforce planning, competency-based selection, running of assessment centres and headhunting techniques.

AGE:
Candidate must not be fifty (50) years old or more at the point of recruitment and must be a citizen of one of the ECOWAS member states.
LANGUAGES:
Proficiency (speaking, writing) in one of the three official ECOWAS languages- English, French, Portuguese. Proficiency in more than one is an added advantage.
